Baptism

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit ... and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: 'Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word."

- Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1213

Congratulations on the birth of your baby!  We're so happy for you and we're excited to celebrate your child's Baptism and welcome him/her into Christ's Church and our parish family!

Baptisms are scheduled on the 3rd Sunday of every month at 1:30 PM.  If this is your first child and/or first Baptism, you are required to attend a parish Baptism Seminar that provides a basic overview and explanation of the Sacrament of Baptism.  Baptism Seminars are held on the    1st Sunday of the month at 1:30 PM in the JPll room in Church. For information and to schedule your child's Baptism and register for a Baptism Seminar, please contact the Rectory at          610-678-3767 or rectory@stignatiusreading.org.
