St. Ignatius Parish Library During the month of January, the Church observes the feasts of two American saints, John Neumann and Elizabeth Ann Seton. St. John Neumann, born in Bohemia, spent his priestly ministry in New York and Pennsylvania and became the fourth bishop of Philadelphia. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton is the first American-born citizen to be canonized. The St. Ignatius Parish Library offers a biography about each of these "modern" saints. They are An Ordinary Saint: John Neumann by Jane F. Hindman and Mrs. Seton: Foundress of the American Sisters of Charity by Joseph I. Dirvin, C.M. Donations were received in memory of Florence Gallo from George & Brenda LeVan, and Catherine Christ from George & Brenda LeVan, Rod & Mary Baumert, and Ann Rutkoski, and Genoeffo Pierorazio from the KofC Council 8726. The library is open Monday through Friday from 7:30AM - 4PM and Wednesday evenings from 6-8PM when CCD classes are in session. The library is also open Sunday mornings from 9AM - 12Noon when the Knights of Columbus are serving breakfast. You are cordially invited to see what your parish library has to offer. |
