In these busy times with everyone doing their own thing, it is a real gift to have a celebration in which all generations come together to celebrate the gift of faith and family! Everyone is welcome! Admission is free. You will not want to miss this exciting and joy-filled celebration of faith and family. |
| Our celebration of Forty Hours Devotions will begin with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament following the 12 Noon Mass on Sunday, November 21st and will conclude with the Solemn Procession and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament on Tuesday, November 23rd. Devotions each evening will begin at 7:30PM. The Forty Hours Devotion recalls the forty hours Jesus spent in the tomb. It is a devotion established to promote peace. Peace is needed in our world, in our community, in our family, in our home, and it begins in each one of us! Our guest homilist each evening will be Rev. Msgr. Thomas J. Orsulak, Pastor of St. Peter Church in Reading. Msgr. Orsulak will address the following themes each evening: Sunday - Coming to our senses, forgiving ourselves. - Lk 15:11-20a Monday - With this ring, I do thee forgive; forgiving others. -Lk 15:11-22 Tuesday - Let the celebration begin; forgiveness and the Eucharistic Table. -Lk 15:11-24 May we continue our tradition of giving honor and glory to Our Lord present in the Eucharist. The 2010 First Communion Class, visiting clergy, along with the Special Ministers of the Eucharist and Altar Servers, will have a special place of honor in the procession on Tuesday evening. (A free-will offering will be taken on Tuesday evening - an envelope was included in the November packet.) Our Forty Hours Devotions affords each of us the opportunity to spend time in the presence of Our Lord. Our Church is open each day, all day, following the 8AM Mass, through evening devotions. We invite everyone to come to the evening services, but if that is not possible, make the effort to stop in for some quiet, peaceful meditation time. Parents are encouraged to bring the little ones for a visit to Jesus during the course of the day. It is a time of many graces for our parish community. |
